The latest addition to this blog is a display of the autobiographical frieze created by Renate Keeping. This unique artwork takes up one room at the gallery. Click here to see more.
Joseph’s Yard is a great favourite with children. This book was written and illustrated by Charles and is very typical of his thinking. Many of his Picture Books were semi biographical, the feeling of the boy’s moods come across so well, and the picture of the angry boy is just the personnification of “Anger”, This cover of the book is a beautiful introduction to the quality of the story and illustrations inside.
Yay!
I so wish I could come and visit the gallery in person. I’ll have to confine myself to visiting the blog 🙂
Yes – Joseph’s Yard was one of my favourite books as a child, although I did find it quite frightening. Frightening, lovely and fascinating all at once..
I was lucky enought to visit and I hope I will be able to again. My mind has been in a whirl of images ever since.
